Ms. Dilki Sandunika Rathnayake was awarded the “Thambippillai Thambiratnam (J.P.U.M) – Attorney at Law Memorial Gold Medal” at the General Convocation of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka 2022.

Dilshan Fernando, a final year undergraduate of the department of CIS, has been selected as an AWS Community Builder.

Final year undergraduate Nayanajith Priyasad became the regional winner in the category ‘Best Innovative Product/ Project - University - Sabaragamuwa Province’ for the ‘Cloud-based Marker-Less Augmented Reality Platform for Mobile Devices (ARMO)’ at the SLASSCOM National Ingenuity Awards - 2022.

Sathira Umesh Bandaranayake was awarded two prestigious awards at the National ICT Awards NBQSA 2021: The Gold Award for the Best Tertiary Student Technology Project 2021 and The Most Innovative and Best Solution for Cloud Computing 2021.

The team "VariantX" from the Department of Computing & Information Systems became the finalist at iCS 2.0, the CTF challenge organized by the UCSC ISACA Student Group.

“Let Me Hack 2.0” of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka has been awarded as ‘Best Industry Collaborative Award’  by IEEE Sri Lanka Section Student/YP/WIE Congress. 

B.I. Batuwanthudawa from the Department of Computing and Information Systems was awarded the Gold Medal under University & Tertiary Educational Institutes Category/ ICT category at Sahasak Nimavum 2020 for the product Real-time Location-based Augmented Reality Advertising Platform for Smart City. 

The team "CREE.PY" from the Department of Computing and Information Systems became the finalists at the DATATHON completion organized by the SLIIT.

“Let Me Hack Eco 2.0 ” of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka has achieved the bronze medal of the Darrel Chong Student Activity Award (2020).

A team from the Faculty of the Applied Sciences Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka became the 2^nd runners-up in Creative Sixes, a friendly cricket tournament organized by Creative Software with the aim of bringing together future IT professionals.

The team "Technocrats" comprising students from the Department of Computing and Information Systems and the Department of Physical Sciences and Technologies won the First Prize for the product "MyMusl" at the Deakin Innovation Challenge organized by the Faculty of Science, Engineering, and Built Environment, Deakin University, Australia

Final Year undergraduate Isuru Abeywardana participated as a speaker along with Alumni Dilum Navanjana at FOSSASIA OPEN TECH SUMMIT 2018 at Lifelong Learning Institute in SINGAPORE.

The team "Sabra Ronins" from the Department of Computing and Information Systems, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka became the 1st runners-up in IFS Code Kombat.

Chathurika Senani, an undergraduate from the Department of Computing & Information Systems participated in the Grace Hopper Celebration 2017 held in Orlando, Florida, USA.
