Research and Ethics Committee

The Research and Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Computing is committed to nurturing a research culture that values excellence and impact through interdisciplinarity, internationalization, and innovation. The committee provides an emphasis on quality and excellence as a means to advance innovation beyond the creation of academic research outcomes. With holistic research strategies, the committee aims in finding synergies in global challenges, regional demands, and issues that are locally relevant and in meeting the community needs and further aims in searching for new Strategically Oriented Research Themes to support the growth of cross-disciplinary areas. 

 

The targets of the committee are as follows

  • Maintaining Research Procedures and Regulations 
  • Maintaining Research Policy for the Department
  • Conducting the annual International Conference on Advanced Research in Computing (ICARC) which is Technical Co-Sponsored by IEEE 
  • Conducting the Sabaragamuwa University Journal of Computer Science (SUJCS)
  • Providing publication guidance and research-oriented training for students 
  • Helping to find funding for the departmental research activities
  • Supporting to promote and spread the word about what you’re doing to extend the impact of your work 
  • Conducting events and networking opportunities 
  • Taking part in national and international sponsored events
