Certificate Course in Advanced Computer Aided Drawing

 

Introduction

The Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) has the unique capability of catering to the higher educational needs of the Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces. One of the prime objectives of the University is to fulfill these needs of the community. It is a common understanding that the residents in these provinces have a sever lack of access to computer facilities and hence, less opportunities, to improve their computer skills.

It provides the opportunity to improve and develop programming & designing skills needed in a number of professional situations. The course will mainly emphasize on theory and practical aspects of the Designing and Application of the Advanced Computer Drawings.

 

Objective of the course

School leavers, undergraduates and graduates are desperately in need of good Computer literacy, programming & designing skills etc, to be competitive in the job market. Further, those who are employed, have the need to improve their general computer knowledge to meet the professional demands of their career.

In order to fill this vacuum, the Extension service Unit of the Sabaragamuwa University has decided to offer a Certificate Courses in Advanced Computer Aided Drawing , according to the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) –Level-01and 30 credits

 

Learning outcome of the course

After the completion of the course students will be able to acquire their knowledge in Drawing skills, designing and Apply Advanced Computer Aided Drawing.

 

 Duration

The course duration is six months (26 weekends part time). Classes would be held in Saturday(8.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m.) and 450 Lecture/Practical ,Assignments, Quizzes and projects hours for the course.

 

Medium of the Course: - English/Sinhala

G.C.E (O/L) or above or any other qualifications accepted by the University

Application Fee:          Rs. 500.00

Course Fee:                  Rs. 15,000.00 

Participants can pay the course fee in two installments as follows.

At registration              Rs.9,000.00

Examination Criteria

Each course module is evaluated through an examination. The final examination will carry 60% of the final marks. An appropriate proposition of marks not exceeding 40% will be assigned to practical, assessments, quizzes and attendance of each course module. The course module will be evaluated by the Lecturer or Instructor who conducts the module based on all above mentioned evaluations and totaled up to 100 marks.

Final Examination

Practical paper             -  60%

  1. All E grades should be upgraded at the first available opportunity.
  2. The maximum grade given for the repeat examination shall be C.

Pass

The candidate must obtain at lease the minimum grade of C for each course module securing final GPA grater or equal 2.00.

Awards of Merits

Final grades will be calculated on the basis of the average marks of the two papers and the practical component.
