Certificate Course in Advanced Computer Aided Drawing

Introduction

The Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) has the unique capability of catering to the higher educational needs of the Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces. One of the prime objectives of the University is to fulfill these needs of the community. It is a common understanding that the residents in these provinces have a sever lack of access to computer facilities and hence, less opportunities, to improve their computer skills.

It provides the opportunity to improve and develop programming & designing skills needed in a number of professional situations. The course will mainly emphasize on theory and practical aspects of 2D/3D designing, computer aided applications.

Objective of the Course

School leavers, undergraduates and graduates are desperately in need of good Computer literacy, programming & designing skills etc, to be competitive in the job market. Further, those who are employed, have the need to improve their general computer knowledge to meet the professional demands of their career.
In order to fill this vacuum, the Center for Open Distance Learning (CODL) of the Sabaragamuwa University has decided to offer a Certificate Courses in Advanced Computer Aided Drawing, according to the Sri Lanka Qualifications Framework (SLQF) –Level-01(NVQ -03), 09 credits

Learning outcome of the course

After the completion of the course students will be able to acquire their knowledge in 2D/3D designing skills, designing and developing computer Aided Applications.

Duration

The course duration is six months. Classes would be held in Saturdays with hybrid mode (Physical and online mode) -8.00am – 1.30 p.m.

Delivery methods

This course will be conducted on campus lectures/practical and online Zoom meeting due to availability of the panel of the lectures. Further University VLM can use for the students.

Application Fee: Rs. 1000.00
Course Fee: Rs. 16,500.00

Participants can pay the course fee in two installments as follows.
At registration        Rs.10,000.00
Within 4 months    Rs.6,500.00

Basics of AutoCAD:  Background of CAD Software,  Starting AutoCAD and Familiarizing with the interface,  Customize Basic Options in AutoCAD, Drawing Units in AutoCAD, Command Line, Commands and Command Alias, Drawing Limits, Open and Save Drawings/Drawing Templates, Working in Different Workspaces, AutoCAD Help.

Coordinates Systems, Status Toggles and Drafting settings:  Coordinate Systems in AutoCAD, Introduce Status Toggles and Shortcut keys, Drafting Setting
