The students of the 1st batch commenced their obstetrics and gynaecology leaning process at the  Faculty of Medicine, Hidellana, Ratnapura, in November 2020, and their clinical training in the Teaching Hospital Rathnapura in March 2021. The Founder Consultant and Senior Professor was Malik Goonewardene, Emeritus Professor University of Ruhuna.
