International Affairs Unit  (IAU)

The International Affairs Unit (IAU, FOM, SUSL) is serving as the hub for international academic relations at Faculty of Medicine Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. The centre is responsible for overseeing and managing all international educational and research endeavours of the faculty. IAU’s primary aim is to enhance the quality of education and research to globally accepted level. The IAU aims to foster collaboration among students, educators, and scholars worldwide, facilitating an exchange of knowledge and ideas that enriches learning and research experiences.

The IAU is committed to design opportunities to help both local and international students to gain a global perspective, develop their academic and professional skills, and network with people from around the world through collaborative projects and through Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with international universities.

The International Affairs Unit, Faculty of Medicine, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, successfully hosted an insightful session on Evidence-Based Practice for AI Healthcare Leadership on January 2, 2025. The event featured Dr. Janet H. Davis, an Associate Professor at Purdue University Northwest and a 2024-2025 Fulbright U.S. Faculty Scholar.

Held at the Faculty Board Room in Weralupa, the session delved into the integration of evidence-based practices with Artificial Intelligence (AI) for transformative healthcare leadership. Attendees engaged in discussions on how AI-driven solutions can enhance clinical decision-making, patient outcomes, and healthcare management.
