Department of Anatomy - Course Outcomes

At the end of the anatomy course unit, the student should be able to

  1. Describe the normal structure of human organ systems, relate the structure to its function, and apply this knowledge as a foundation for clinical medicine.
  2. Explain the microscopic structure of human organ systems, analyzing how structure influences function, and apply this knowledge in clinical contexts.
  3. Analyze knowledge of basic and systemic embryology to interpret normal anatomical development and evaluate congenital anomalies, offering potential explanations for their origins.
  4. Apply fundamental concepts of human genetics to diagnose common genetic disorders, and critically evaluate their implications for clinical practice.
