English for Specific Purposes (ESP) within the Global Tourism Industry

Dr. Nadee Mahawattha, Senior Lecturer in the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, participated in the exchange program titled “English for Specific Purposes (ESP) within the Global Tourism Industry.” The program, organized by the Office of English Language Programs of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State, and implemented in cooperation with FHI 360, was held in the United States from 6 to 20 July 2026.

Dr. Mahawattha represented Sri Lanka among 25 participants from 24 countries worldwide. Upon successfully completing the program, she received her certificate from Victoria (Robinson) Roberts, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs in the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs at the U.S. Department of State. The certificate presentation and the networking reception took place at the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., United States.
