The Practical Training Unit (PTU) of the Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, plays a vital role in connecting academic learning with the professional workplace. The Unit coordinates practical training and internship opportunities that enable undergraduates to apply their theoretical knowledge in real organizational settings and gain valuable industry experience.

Through partnerships with private-sector organizations, public institutions, professional bodies, alumni, and other stakeholders, the PTU supports students in developing essential workplace competencies, including communication, teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, adaptability, and professional ethics. The Unit also facilitates career-development activities such as workshops, mentoring sessions, industry interactions, employer networking, and career fairs.

By guiding students throughout the training process and maintaining close engagement with employers, the Practical Training Unit contributes to producing competent, confident, responsible, and industry-ready graduates. It serves as an important bridge between the University and the world of work, strengthening graduate employability and supporting the long-term professional development of students.
