Department of Marketing Management

 

The Department of Marketing management is an innovative department in the Faculty of Management Studies. As a young department we are on a steady growth with a reputation for its strong and valuable degree program which initiates a research culture in the field of Marketing. We are supporting for young undergraduates to build their future as practicing marketers in the business world with the excellence and close link with the industry and professional partners.   1. Scholarship & Intellectual Integrity: comprehensive understanding of fundamentals of the marketing discipline; ability to execute and implement scholarly conventions; ability to evaluate and interpret scholar and industry literatures; ability to conceptualize research imagination
  2. Practical & Strategic Sense: ability to recognize and apply marketing theories into diverse circumstances; identifying and understanding of current trends in marketing i.e. local & global; ability to identify & apply marketing strategies; ability to foresee the future marketing scenario

Strategic HRM & its Practical Application

 

Department of Marketing Management has organized a gust lecture on “Strategic HRM & its Practical Application” on 27th of June for the undergraduates of the Faculty of Management Studies. session was conduct by Mr. Mifaz Ahamed, Senior Manager (Human Resource Development) of Hemas Holdings PLC who is a dynamic, versatile and inspiring personality in Human Resource Management arena. The main purpose of this workshop is to enhance the application of HRM theories and concepts into the practical world.  This was organized by the subject lecturer of Ms. J.H.A.W.N.Hettiarachchi together with the second-year students.

 

 

 

         Social Dancing Workshop 2019

Department of Marketing Management successfully conducted a Social Dancing workshop on 29th April 2019, at the faculty auditorium (FMS) in related with Fine Arts for Marketing Profession Subject. The objective of this program was to enrich the skills and experience relating to the Social Dancing. The audience of this session was second year undergraduates of Department of Marketing Management. The session was conducted by Miss Shashikala Harshani, Brand executive; Maliban Sri Lanka. The resource person is a graduate from University of Sri Jayewardenepura and she was the winner of Derana City of Dance 2014. Lecturer (prob.), Ms. P.L.G.S.D. Piumali the lecturer in charge of Fine Arts for Marketing Profession, organized this program

 

 

 

        Music Therapy 2019

        

Second year students of Department of Marketing Management successfully conducted a Music interpretation program on 04th June 2019, at the faculty auditorium (FMS) in related with Fine Arts for Marketing Profession Subject. The objective of this program was to enrich the practical knowledge and attitude related to music. The audience of this session was Management Faculty undergraduates. The session was conducted by Mr. Darshana Warnasekara, Former COO; Ruhunu Foods (Pvt) Ltd. Lecturer (prob.), P.L.G.S.D. Piumali the lecturer in charge of Fine Arts for Marketing Profession, organized this program

 

           

Fine Arts for Marketing Profession

The field visit of the Year II Semester II students of the Department of Marketing Management was held from 27th to 29th March 2019. The field visit has arranged to give that practical experience relating to the Fine Arts and its practical implication for marketing profession. Thus, the field visit covered the practical aspects of the MM 2222 – Fine Arts for Marketing Profession subject. Students have visited to the Lotus pond, National art gallery, National Film Cooperation (Sarasavi Film Studio Kelaniya), Neo-Ogilvy Advertising Agency, Derana Media and Unilever Factory. This three-day program was successful as per the objectives and it helped students to enhance and empower their skills and practical knowledge. This was organized by the subject lecturer of Ms. P.L.G.S.D. Piumali together with the second-year students
