RMP Programme

Research Mentoring Programme (RMP) 2022

The FMS conducted a Research Mentoring Programme (RMP) in collaboration with Emerald Publishing and Gulf Medical University, Ajman, UAE, as a project of the Research and Publication Unit, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Further, this programme is an extension of the Writing Impactful Research (WIR) program conducted in 2021 and also as a post-conference engagement of ICMR 2021. The RMP is designed to shape the future of young and emerging researchers by sharpening their skills in conducting impactful research towards publishing in a recognized journal. The webinar series comprises 8 sessions of 90–120 minutes each. The RMP is a free-of-charge webinar series and open to the public.

The workshop aims to achieve the following outcomes for the attendees.

1. Devising new contributions and making originality through your research

2. Writing and publishing impactful manuscripts

3. Leading the scholarly community

4. Strategizing for making contributions to the scholarly journals

Prof. Sudhir Rana

College of Healthcare Management & Economics Gulf Medical University, UAE

Prof. Sudhir Rana is a marketing faculty at College of Healthcare Management & Economics at Gulf Medical University, UAE. He believes in driving and motivating academics and research such a way that, it can be best utilized in an enthusiastic and dynamic environment to foster versatile personalities. He is MBA and Ph.D. with MHRD Scholarship from Government of India and Post Doctorate from Putra Business School, University of Putra, Malaysia. His research profile is followed by publications into ABDC/ABS/Scopus/Web of Sciences Ranked & indexed journals published by Elsevier, Emerald, InderScience, Sage, and Neilson Journal Publishing etc. Dr. Rana is a versatile academician. He performs various roles, as Guest Faculty, Scholar, Editor, Editorial Board Member, Guest Editor, Author, Guest Speaker/Panel Speaker/Moderator, Conference Speaker/Session Chair/Committee Member & Convener, and Workshop Expert at various platforms in India and overseas. He is a senior editor with the International Journal of Emerging Markets (Emerald); FIIB Business Review (Sage); South Asian Journal of Marketing (Emerald); and Advances in Emerging Economies and Business Operations (Taylor & Francis). Dr. Rana has delivered over 100 workshop sessions and expert talks across the globe on different topics related to publishing in high quality journals.

 

 Prof. Amila Jayarathne

Professor, University of Sri Jayewardenepura

Prof. (Dr. Mrs) P. G. S. AmilaJayarathne is a Professor in Marketing and former Head of the Department of Marketing Management, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ). She has published in several international conferences and in high-ranked (A*) indexed journals including the International Journal of Operations and Production Management and Production Planning and Control. She is also a reviewer for several A* journals and a chief-editor for the journal of the Department-Asian Journal of Marketing Management. She has been awarded by the International Journal of Operations and Production Management (Emerald) for an outstanding research paper and by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura for her outstanding Research Performances, such as the highest citation and highest h-index of the Faculty.

 

Prof. Dewasiri N. Jayantha

Professor, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka / Brand Ambassador South Asia – Emerald Publishing

Prof. Dewasiri N. Jayantha holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Finance from the University of Colombo, MS.c in Applied Finance, and a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, BA (Hons) in Business from the Glyndwr University, UK. After serving 17 years in the industry, he joined academia and is a pioneer in applying triangulation research approaches in the management discipline. He is currently serving as the Co-Editors-in-Chief of the South Asian Journal of Marketing published by Emerald Publishing, Senior Associate Editor of the FIIB Business Review published by SAGE Publishing, Managing Editor of the South Asian Journal of Tourism and Hospitality published by the Faculty of Management Studies.

 

Prof.  Amit Shankar

Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam

Prof. Amit Shankar is an Assistant Professor in Marketing at the Indian Institute of Management Visakhapatnam, India. Prior to joining IIM Visakhapatnam, he was associated with IMT, Ghaziabad as Assistant Professor. He has obtained his Ph.D. in Marketing from Vinod Gupta School of Management, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He has conducted several workshops on Marketing analytics, SPSS, Amos, SmartPLS, Advanced Excel, and Process Macro in premier institutes of India. His research interests are in the areas of retaining, services marketing, and mobile banking. Amit’s research has been published in the International Journal of Hospitality Management, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Service, Technovation, Journal of Bank Marketing, Journal of Strategic Marketing, Australasian Marketing Journal, International Journal of Consumer Studies, Journal of Consumer Marketing, Australasian Journal of Information Systems, Journal of Enterprise Information Management, Journal of Global Information Management, and Marketing Intelligence & Planning, among others.

 

Prof. Jagroop Singh

Assistant Professor, College of Healthcare Management and Economics, Gulf Medical University, Ajman (UAE)

Prof. Jagroop Singh is an Assistant Professor for Operations Management at the College of Healthcare Management and Economics, Gulf Medical University, Ajman (UAE). He earned his Ph.D. degree with Financial Assistantship (Scholarship) from the Government of India under the Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP-II). He is associated as Post – Doctorate researcher with Putra Business School (AACSB Accredited), Universiti of Putra, Malaysia. He is contributing to society through his teaching and research commitments for the last 10 years. Prof. Jagroop Singh’s research area is in the domain of Quantitative Techniques, Operations, and Supply Chain Management with current research issues like supply chain management, healthcare operations, and aviation sustainability. He has published in journals of International repute (ABDC/Scopus/SSCI) and serving as a reviewer for various international journals. He also manages editorial responsibilities with SCOPUS indexed Emerald series “Review of Management Literature”.

 

Prof. Muhammad Kashif

Assistant Professor, GIFT University Pakistan / Brand Ambassador UAE – Emerald Publishing

Muhammad Kashif works as Assistant Professor, Business School at GIFT University, Pakistan. With 17 years of full-time teaching and research experience. Muhammad Kashif holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Services Marketing from the University of Colombo in year 2021. He has published 60 articles in internationally acclaimed journals. These journals include Personnel Review, Marketing Intelligence & Planning, International Journal of Bank Marketing, TQM Journal, Journal of Management Development, British Food Journal, Total Quality Management & Business Excellence, International Journal of Consumer Marketing, and the Asia Pacific Journal of Marketing & Logistics as few to name. He worked with the British Food Journal as Guest Editor to successfully launch a call for papers on food anti-consumption. For Emerald Publishing, he works as a brand ambassador for Pakistan, where the core role is to increase awareness among Pakistani academics concerning research methods and publications in international journals. As a trainer, he delivered various seminars and workshops across Pakistan and in Indonesian, Morocco, and Sri Lankan universities.

  

Prof. Shanthi Gopalakrishnan

Professor, Martin Tuchman School of Management, USA Editor-in-Chief, South Asian Journal of Business Studies

Prof. Shanthi completed her undergraduate and graduate work in India and worked with a Consumer Durable company. She then obtained her Ph.D. at Rutgers University and is currently a Professor at the Martin Tuchman School of Management. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of the South Asian Journal of Business Studies and serves on the Editorial Boards of several journals.

 

 Prof. Vikas Arya

Assistant Professor, International University of Rabat, Rabat Business School, Morocco / Director (Founder): Blueforskning Research Academy

Prof.  Vikas Arya is a doctorate in Digital Brand Management. He is a Guest Editor of a special issue of seven International Journals listed in the Scopus &/or ABDC category. He has published papers in reputed journals such as the International journal of information management (ABDCC-A Star) -IF 8.2, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Studies (ABDC-A) – IF 4.2, and Journal of Global Information Management (ABDC-A). He also has papers in ABDC-B, and more than 14 papers published in reputed journals in the ABDC/Scopus category. His core research and teaching interests are in Consumer Behavior, Brand Management, Marketing Communication, Destination Branding, Digital Mobile Apps’ marketing, Brand Building using virtual platforms, and Communication in Health Care. For his significant research contributions, he recently received the “Best Young Researcher” award from Global Education and Corporate Leadership Awards -2018.
