Ethics Review Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (ERC-SUSL), has been in operation since the beginning of the Faculty. It is a member of the Forum for Ethics Review Committees of Sri Lanka (FERCSL) https://fercsl.lk/.

The main objective of the ERC-SUSL is to serve as a competent body that facilities reviewing of biomedical research proposals from universities/institutions of both local and overseas and encourages ethical research conduct.

Objectives:

To review and to grant ethics approval for research proposals submitted by members inside or outside the faculty of medicine, SUSL.

To serve as a legitimate committee to give ERC for community medicine research proposals of the medical students of the faculty

To be an affiliated member of the Forum for Ethics Review Committees in Sri Lanka (FERCSL)
