පාර්යාවරණ 23’: A Sustainable event Initiative by EcoBusiness Management Undergraduates at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka

On the 17th of October 2023, the EcoBusiness Management undergraduates of Faculty of Management Studies of Sabaragamuwa University in Sri Lanka organized a groundbreaking program titled " පාර්යාවරණ 23’." This initiative was a testament to their commitment to environmental sustainability and served as a platform to raise awareness about the pressing environmental issues facing our world today.

The program aimed to foster a sense of responsibility among participants regarding environmental conservation and sustainable practices. A number of aesthetic performances were done to achieve this objective. The major highlights of the event were the presentation of the department wise Ecological Footprint and the event's carbon footprint. There was a fashion show done with up-cycled materials. The event was conducted with zero material waste.

In addition, පාර්යාවරණ 23’ incorporated practical activities such as a tree planting program, educating faculty members regarding ecological rucksack and ecological footprint. The program's success was not only measured by the knowledge gained but also by the tangible impact it had on the university community and beyond. පාර්යාවරණ 23’ showcased the potential of the youth to drive positive change and emphasized the role of education in shaping a more sustainable future.
