Felicitation Ceremony for Mr. H.G. Piyasiri
Mr. H.G.Piyasiri,the Senior Instructor in English, is one of the most senior lecturers affiliated with the Faculty of Management Studies, SUSL,and retired after an astounding service period of three decades. The faculty organized a felicitation ceremony to tribute him on 10th January 2023 at the faculty auditorium. Mr. H.G. Piyasiri and his family, the Vice Chancellor; Professor Udaya Rathnayake, the Dean; Professor Athula C. Gnanapala, and academic and non-academic support staff members and students of the FMS graced the occasion. The highlights of the ceremony were launching a special” Felicitation E-Volume, dedicated to Mr. H.G. Piyasiri,”and dedicating the “Volume II Issue II of South Asian Journal of Tourism and Hospitality to Mr.H.G. Piyasiri”..
He began his career as an Instructor in English attached to the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages at Sabragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL) on 15th June 1993.Soon after he joined the FMS, he played a significant and diligent role in developing and shaping the curriculum of the Business English & Business Communication courses. Until his retirement in 2022, Mr.Piyasiri devoted his career to FMS, shaping and enriching thousands of undergraduates.Indeed, Mr. H.G.Piyasiri is one of the most senior lecturers affiliated with the Department of Accountancy and Finance of FMS, SUSL, who has made critical life-long contributions to the educational endeavors of the students through his creative discoveries and work that he has advanced within his fields.
