Recap of the Official Website Launching Ceremony for ICARC 2025
On August 15, 2024, the Faculty of Computing at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka celebrated a pivotal moment with the official launch of the ICARC 2025 website. We’re excited to share the highlights and key moments from this landmark event.
The ceremony was a tremendous success, setting the stage for an innovative and forward-looking ICARC 2025. The event was graced by the presence of the Vice Chancellor of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka Professor M. Sunil Shantha and the Dean of the Faculty of Computing Professor S. Vasanthapriyan. The gathering was joined online by the Honorary Chair of ICARC 2025, Mrs. Jyothika Athavale, the President of IEEE Computer Society, joining from the HeadQuarters of IEEE Computer Society, Washington, USA.
The event was further graced by the presence of other esteemed invitees including Professor B.T.G.S. Kumara, the Director of the Center for Computer Studies, SUSL; Mr. Saman Uyangoda, the Registrar of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, the Heads of the Departments and academic staff members of the Faculty of Computing, external members of the Faculty Board of Computing, Track Chairs, Technical Program Committee members, and Organizing Committee members of ICARC 2025, comprising leading researchers from Sri Lanka and beyond.
ICARC 2025 will focus on the theme “Converging Horizons: Uniting Disciplines in Computing Research through AI Innovation.” We are excited about our collaboration with the Sri Lanka Medical Association (SLMA), with notable contributions from Dr. Ananda Wijewickrama, the President of SLMA, Dr. Lahiru Kodithuwakku, the Secretary, and other executive members of SLMA including Dr. Senitha Liyanage, Professor Kumara Mendis, and Dr. Nilanka Mudithakumara.
Additionally, we were pleased to host representatives from our Technical Co-Sponsors, including Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), IEEE Sri Lanka Section, and other IEEE Chapters including IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (IEEE EMBS), IEEE Industry Applications Society (IEEE IAS), IEEE Signal Processing Society, IEEE Communications Society (IEEE ComSoc), and IEEE Computer Society Sri Lanka Chapter.
All the dignitaries were warmly and formally welcomed to the event by the Conference Chair of ICARC 2025, Dr. Pubudu Jayasena. The web launching was ensured successfully by the hands of the Vice Chancellor, Professor M. Sunil Shantha. Followed by the main event, an inspiring speech was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Computing Professor S. Vasanthapriyan and next, the Vice Chancellor Professor M. Sunil Shantha addressed the gathering extending his congratulatory wishes for ICARC 2025
Moreover, the entire gathering was privileged to hear from the President of IEEE Sri Lanka Section Mr. Dhammika Marasinghe who delivered a speech representing the Technical Co-Sponsors of ICARC 2025. His insights undeniably added depth and context to the event. As the event approached its end, the vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Ravikumar Nirubikaa, the Secretary of ICARC 2025, in order to sincerely appreciate all who have been involved in its success.
This is just the beginning, and the excitement for ICARC 2025 is building! We look forward to an unforgettable gathering of researchers, industry leaders, innovators, and academic enthusiasts on February 19th & 20th, 2025, at Sabaragamuwa University.
