Reflecting on the Inauguration Ceremony of ICARC 2023
While the preparations are underway for the 4th edition of the International Conference on Advanced Research in Computing - ICARC, the flagship Conference of the Faculty of Computing, SUSL, we are reflecting on the Inauguration Ceremony of ICARC 2023 which took place at SUSL on 23rd of February this year.
The event was graced by the presence of Professor R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayaka, the Vice-Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, the Guest of Honour Professor Buddhika Jayasekara, the President of the IEEE Sri Lanka Section for 2023, prominent speakers from the academia and industry, and leading research fellows from local and international universities. The event was attended by academic and administrative staff of the University, out own students, representatives from the industry, and well-wishers. The conference which was themed "Digital Transformation for Sustainable Development" set the stage for a special guest speech on 'Innovation and Sustainability' by Dr. Harsha Subasinghe, the President/ CEO of CodeGen. Mrs. Nita Patel, the President of IEEE Computer Society - 2023, IEEE HeadQuarters, Washington, D.C. USA, also joined the event online, sharing inspiring insights on 'Women in STEM'.
