We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor S. Vasanthapriyan, former founding Dean of the Faculty of Computing, for his visionary leadership and invaluable contributions during the formative years of the Faculty.

Established on the 2nd of January 2023 as the 9th Faculty of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, the Faculty of Computing embarked on its journey with a clear vision to improve lives through education and a mission to nurture globally competent citizens for a sustainable future, grounded in our rich cultural heritage and wisdom. Under his guidance, this vision was not only articulated but meaningfully translated into action.

His dedication, strategic insight, and commitment to academic excellence played a pivotal role in laying a strong foundation for the Faculty. Through his leadership, the Faculty has grown into a dynamic academic environment that fosters innovation, learning, and progress.
