Faculty of Medicine

The Faculty of Medicine at Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, the newest addition to Sri Lanka's chain of Medical Faculties, is making waves as the tenth. With fifteen (15) academic departments driving its MBBS degree program, including:

The faculty is strategically located in Ratnapura and committed to providing a comprehensive and well-rounded education for future medical professionals.
The first and second years of the MBBS program are conducted at Batuhena Faculty premises, while the last three years take place at the Galkaduwatta Faculty Premises. The ongoing construction of the faculty buildings and professorial unit near the Teaching Hospital, Ratnapura (Galkaduwatta Premises), marks a significant development. The administration building and Para-clinical building are already constructed and functioning. Additionally, teaching hospital will serve as the teaching hospital, offering all clinical training facilities to the students.
With a deliberate focus on quality education, the faculty accommodates five (5) batches, ensuring a personalized and conducive learning environment. Positioned as the tenth Medical Faculty in Sri Lanka, the faculty is set to redefine medical education, emphasizing innovation, strategic location, and hands-on clinical training for future healthcare professionals.
