PRACTICAL APTITUDE TEST

Applications are here by called for the Practical Aptitude Test 2026 held to select students for admission to the following degree programmes.

1.      B.Sc(Honours) in Sport Sciences & Management (SSM)

2.      B.Sc(Honours) in Physical Education (PED)

At least ‘S’ grades in any three subjects at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination heldfor2025(Please refer to the Admission handbook 2025/26.

Candidates should apply for the aptitude test mentioned above, and the online application submitted to the UGC and appear for the examination. This is compulsory.

1.      Should have obtained at least a simple (S) pass in any three subjects under any subject stream at the G.C.E. (Advanced Level) Examination for the year 2025.

2.      The Aptitude Test will consist of 

a)      Physical Fitness Assessment:

The test will evaluate candidates’ physical fitness qualities, including the 35m Sprint, Shuttle run, 1000m run, Standing Broad Jump, Push Ups (Nature of the Push Ups test is the same for both male and female candidates), and Sit& Reach Test.

It is important to bring a medical certificate, which is certified by a recognized MBBS Physician, to the Aptitude Test

b)     Sports Achievements Evaluation:

Candidates’ sports achievements (from 2021 to 2026)at International, National, Provincial, District and Zonal levels will be evaluated.

In the Subaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, Candidates can apply

-          only for the B.Sc.(Honours) in Physical Education (PED) or

-          only for the B.Sc. (Honours) in Sport Sciences and Management (SSM) or

-          Both degree programmes (PED and SSM)

Any single candidate can apply for both the above degree programmes by submitting one application (Application fee Rs. 2000.00)and has to mention it in the relevant cage in the given application.

Methods of Submitting an Application

❶ Applicants should pay an Aptitude Test fee of Rs.2000.00 for the test to the Account Number 0002246976 (Bank of Ceylon) infavour of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and send a copy of the receipt along with the application.

A complete application should include the following, and before starting the application process, be sure to have those documents.

❶        Original bank slip and/or Practical Aptitude Test 2025 payment voucher (second copy)

❷        Certified photo copies of G.C.E.(A/L) 2025certificates (certified by the Principal of the School, or a Justice of Peace, or Attorney at Law)

❸      A certified copy of National Identity Card (certified by the Principal of the School, or a Justice of the Peace, or Attorney at Law)

It is mandatory to apply for the link eligible for the Practical Aptitude Test.

Duly filled application forms together with all the relevant documents will be accepted only till 18^th May 2026.

In the Practical Aptitude Test Day,

·         Applicant should bring the (a)original and (b)certified photocopies of the

                    i.            Advanced Level Educational Certificates,

                  ii.            National Identity Card,

                iii.            Medical Certificate (certified by arecognized MBBS Physician),

                iv.            Original paying voucher, and

                  v.            Bank paying slip (green slip).

·         Further, original certificates of the (vi)highest sports achievement obtained within the past five years (from 2021 to 2026) should be brought with certified photocopies when you come to the Practical Aptitude Test.

·         All photocopies of certificates should be certified by one of the Principal of the School/Divisional Education Director/Provincial Education Director, or the Sports Director.

Admission letters and other relevant information regarding the Practical Aptitude Test will be sentvia email have satisfied the admission requirements for the Practical Aptitude Test.When applying, it is important to use an active email address.
