Contains most expensive and rare items as well as precious donations. Users  are allowed in-house references only. Publications from the academics, collection SUSL publications are also available for the university community. Moreover, it contains Encyclopedias, Thesauruses, Dictionaries, Atlases,  Maps, glossaries for various disciplines, etc. A collection of rare notes relevant to Geomatics is also available in this section. The special collections received as donations from individuals have been organized separately based on the donor's name.

The special collections include: Prof. Dayananda Somasundara, Prof. I. Balasooriya, Oliver De Soyza, P. Wattegama, Prof. Rajiva Wijesinghe, and Prof. Shiran Deraniyagala.
