26th General Convocation of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka – A Historic Celebration of Excellence

The 26th General Convocation of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka was held on June 24, 2025, at the university premises, marking a significant milestone in its academic journey.
A key highlight of this year’s convocation was the graduation of the first-ever batch of medical doctors, with 65 students from the Faculty of Medicine receiving their MBBS degrees. This landmark achievement showcases the university’s growing contribution to the national healthcare sector.
Graduands also received degrees from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Graduate Studies, Faculty of Management Studies, and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, demonstrating the university’s comprehensive academic strength.
The ceremony was graced by Professor Emeritus Mohan de Silva, MS, FRCS (Edin), FCSSL — Consultant Surgeon and former Chairman of the University Grants Commission — who served as the Chief Guest, delivering a powerful and inspiring address.Prof. S.
