Prof. PGRNI Pussella – On his Appointment as the Head of the Department

We are delighted to extend our heartfelt congratulations to Professor P.G.R.N.I. Pussella on
his appointment as the Head of the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS, Faculty of
Geomatics, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
With an outstanding academic background, including a PhD in Cartography and Geographic
Information Engineering from Wuhan University, China, an MPhil in Earth Sciences from
the University of Peradeniya, and a B.Sc. in Surveying Sciences from Sabaragamuwa
University of Sri Lanka, Professor Pussella has made significant contributions to geospatial
sciences. As the new Head of the Department, Professor Pussella is set to lead with
innovation, collaboration, and excellence, fostering research-driven education and
strengthening industry-academia partnerships. We extend our best wishes for a successful
tenure and look forward to his continued contributions in shaping the future.
