Facilities

Our department has exceptional facilities for learning and research.

We have laboratories and field stations under the disciplines of Earth Science, Soil Science and Biology and Environmental Science which are fully equipped for practical exercises in relevant fields.

Earth Science Laboratory

The Earth Science laboratory is equipped with maps, aerial photographs, models, specimens of minerals and rocks, and other necessary equipment. The laboratory caters for undergraduate practical sessions in map reading and analysis, aerial photo interpretation, crystallography and mineralogy, and petrology.

Biology Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with essential apparatus for field and laboratory practical sessions in Introductory Biology, Ecology, Limnology and Biodiversity.

Research Laboratory

The laboratory is set up with the necessary equipment to cater to postgraduate research work and undergraduate mini-projects. Further development of this laboratory is in progress.

Soil Conservation Laboratory

This laboratory is equipped with essential apparatus for field and laboratory practical sessions in relation to soil conservation and management.

Earth Science Museum

We currently have a substantial set of rocks and minerals samples.

Museum and the Herbarium

Museum and the Herbarium will be fully equipped with the specimens.

Biodiversity and Conservation Ecology Lab (BACEL)

The Biodiversity and Conservation Ecology Lab is to be fully equipped for biodiversity and conservation studies.

Biogeography Laboratory

The Biogeography Lab is to be equipped with facilities and software to conduct geospatial analyses on biodiversity.
