Ceremonial Opening of the English Activity Room

The English Activity Room of the Faculty of Applied Sciences was declared open on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 with the graceful presence of Senior Professor R.M.U.S.K. Rathnayake, the Vice Chancellor of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Mr. Saman Uyangoda, the Registrar of SUSL, Professor E.P.N. Udayakumara, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the members of the academic, academic support, and technical staff, and the students representing the English Language Association participated in the event.

The facility was established under Activity 4: Enriching English Learning Skills of the  Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) Project.

Dr. Lalindra Ranaweera, the Project Coordinator, and Professor S. Vasanthapriyan, the Activity Coordinator, emphasized the facility's many benefits, including helping students improve their command of English language and get ready for language proficiency tests including TOEFL, GRE, and IELTS. They also extended their best wishes for the facility's continued and successful operation.
