University Business Linkage Cell, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka has entered into a MoU with SUBASH GEMS on 03rd March 2021 to establish a business relationship through the research project titled “Value addition and commercialization of low gem-quality corundum in Sri Lanka using innovative heat treatment technology”. The objective of this MoU is to commercialize the treated gems developed through optimized heat treatment conditions which is introduced as a value addition technique for the local Geuda varieties and for getting support from SUBASH GEMS to sell those treated gems. The project has been funded by the Research Innovation and Commercialization (RIC) grant of the Accelerating Higher Education Expansion and Development (AHEAD) program. Kumara, Chairman – Tradebay International (PVT) LTD Mr. S. Abeymanna, and the research team of the Faculty of Applied Sciences were the key participants in the event.
