Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and Suravi Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd. have joined forces to commercialize a new Herbal Instant Soup product, marking another exciting chapter in the university’s innovative journey. The product was launched on November 1, 2024, at Suravi Holdings (Pvt.) Ltd.

Formulated by the research team of the Faculty of Applied Sciences, this herbal instant soup is a functional food product created with natural ingredients known for their health benefits. It is designed to help maintain stable blood sugar levels while boosting overall health and wellness in society. The soup is enriched with ingredients such as Udahalu, Heen Bovitiya, Ranawara, Green Gram, Kidney Beans, Red Rice, Curry Leaves, and other carefully selected herbs, providing antioxidant-rich, low glycemic benefits.

This launch follows the success of previous collaborations and highlights the commitment of the University Business Linkage Cell (UBLC) to promoting sustainable socio-economic development through university technology transfer. The Herbal Instant Soup marks another milestone in bridging academic research with industry to create impactful, value-added products.
