In Sri Lanka the vegan community is increasing daily and veganism is gaining momentum.University Business Linkage Cell has conducted a meeting with Serangreen Holdings (Pvt) ltd as the initial step to commercialize the Vegan Sausage developed with the collaboration of University of Ruhuna. Serangreen Holdings (Pvt) ltd Manufacturing And distributing vegan sausages all over the country under the brand name of Serengreen.

The meeting was held on 22nd February 2023 via Zoom platform. Director of UBLC, SUSL, Prof. Indunil Dayaratne, Dr. Thilini C. Kananke, Director of UBLC, UOR Dr. Lahiru Prabodha,Pr.Vajira Bulugahapitiya,Ms.Sumudu Arundathi, The Managing Director of Serangreen (Pvt) Ltd Mr.G.H.D.D. Jayarathne and his team and UBLC staff members were presented at the meeting. Mr. Jayarathne expressed his willingness to commercialize these inventions and the future prospects of the collaboration were discussed during the meeting.
