University Business Linkage Cell, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Hayleys Agro Farms Pvt. Ltd on 24th February 2021 at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka to establish mutually beneficial links through the research project with the aim of studying and identifying the opportunities of value addition of Potatoes grown in Sri Lanka. The objective of this project is to identify suitable potato varieties that fulfills required physico-chemical and morphological characteristics for the production of value-added potatoes such as potato chips, French fries, potato wedges etc. The project was continued under the guidance and supervision of Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Faculty of Applied sciences and Hayleys will support in the financial aspect in order to get a fruitful result from this research project.
