History of the Department of Economics and Statistics

The Department of Economics & Statistics is the fourth department attached to the Faculty of Social Sciences & Languages, SUSL. It was officially established by a gazette notification: Gazette Extraordinary No. 1602/19 May 21, 2009, under the Ministry of Higher Education, with the recommendation of the University Grants Commission. The purpose for establishing the department was to improve the framework for instruction and research in Economics, Statistics and ICT, and to allow designing new programmers to meet emerging market requirements.
