Awareness Session on Intellectual Property Management & Commercialization held on 22nd May 2025

UBLC successfully conducted an Awareness Session on Intellectual Property (IP) Management and Commercialization for the undergraduates of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages on 22nd May 2025. The session aimed to enhance students’ understanding of the importance of protecting their innovative ideas and how intellectual property can be strategically managed and commercialized in both academic and industry settings. Faculty Coordinator Ms. Januka Edirimanna Mohotti has taken the initiative in organizing the event. We extend our sincere thanks to all participants and look forward to supporting the next generation of innovators.

Business Linkage Cell, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages

The Faculty Business Linkage Cell is an extension of the University Business Linkage Cell (UBLC) of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. UBCL was established with reference to the University Grants Commission Circular No.10/2016 from May 2018. The University Business Linkage Cell hols the responsibility to effectively link the University research and innovation activities with external business stake holders. The cell functions directly under the Vice Chancellor and the senate approved Advisory Board.

At present, Prof.Indunil Dayaratne is the Director of the University Business Linkage Cell (UBLC) and Ms.Januka Edirimana Mohotti is in charge of the Faculty Business Linkage Cell for the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages. It functions under the purview of the Dean of the Faculty and often communicates with the UBLC.
