ASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY COMPETITION 2023

 

How to Participate

  • Dates: Capture and submit your Astrophotographs from August 27th to September 3rd, 2023.
  • Eligibility: Open to all students from university colleges.
  • Devices: Use any camera or smartphone to capture your Astrophotographs.
  • Submission: Complete the Google Form to upload your photograph.
  • Certification: All participants must be able to certify the authenticity of their photograph.

 

Competition Rules and Regulations

  • Theme: Your Astrophotographs must beautifully depict elements of the night sky, such as stars, planets, galaxies, or celestial events.
  • Original Work: Entries must be your original work, and you must hold the rights to your submission.
  • Editing: Basic edits (brightness, contrast, cropping) are allowed, but heavily manipulated images will be disqualified.
  • Single Entry: Each participant can submit only one Astrophotograph.
  • Certification: Participants must be able to provide necessary details to certify the authenticity of their photograph.
  • Content Guidelines: Images should be respectful, appropriate, and align with the university's code of conduct.
  • Submission Deadline: All entries must be submitted by September 1st , 2023, before 11:59 PM (local time).
  • Following Requirement: Participants must follow the "Society of Technological Studies" Facebook page to ensure their likes and comments are counted as valid votes. Likewise, voters must also follow the page for their likes and comments to be considered valid votes.

 

Competition Process

  • Best Photograph Selection: A panel from the Nalanda College Astronomical Society will choose the best astrophotograph.
  • Popular Photograph Selection: The most liked photograph on the "Society of Technological Studies" Facebook page will win the popular photograph category.
  • Upload to Facebook: On September 2nd , all submitted photographs will be uploaded to the "Society of Technological Studies" Facebook page.
  • Voting Period: From September 2nd to September 6th 12.00(AM), participants can gather likes and comments for their photographs on Facebook.
  • Winners Announcement: Winners will be announced on September 6th during the mainevent of AstroCamp 2023.

 

Prizes

  • Best Photograph: Cash prize and recognition by the Nalanda College Astronomical Society.
  • Popular Photograph: Cash prize based on the most likes and comments on Facebook.
