Sri Lanka Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities

Review Process

The journal follows a double blind peer-review process.

  1. After receiving a paper, the editor in chief with the help of an editorial member/s decides whether the paper should be sent for review or not, based on the plagiarism report of the article and the relevant it in the Social Science/Humanities discipline.
  2. Once the editor-in-chief decides to send the paper for reviewers, the paper is sent to two reviewers (the experts in respective fields) to review the paper in the light of the journal's guidelines and features of a quality research paper.
  3. For papers that require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable. The review process takes a maximum of two months.
  4. The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be accepted/ accepted subject to change/subject to resubmission with significant changes/ rejected.
  5. The review reports are collected from the reviewers and the editorial assistant will send the review reports to the authors including all terms and conditions of the publication.
  6. If the paper is accepted, the managing editor will ask the author/corresponding author to pay the publication fee of the journal within the specified time.
  7. The editorial assistant shall send the modified paper to the same reviewers of the said paper to justify the modifications. In case of very minor changes, the editorial board may consider the paper for further modifications.
  8. The accepted paper is processed for publication (soft copy) upon the successful completion of the journal’s terms and conditions. Author(s) should prepare the final version of the article in the template sent by the Managing editor. The author may ask for an acceptance letter after making the payment of the publication fee. The acceptance letter is issued within two weeks of publication fee receipt.
  9. The editorial assistant will send the processed paper for publication to the author/corresponding author for proofreading.
  10. Author/Corresponding Author will be notified of the possible date of publication (both online and print).
  11. The paper is published online first. The printed version of the journal is published within one month after the publication of the online version.
  12. The editorial assistant will ask the authors of the published papers to send their correct and complete mailing address (with proper ZIP Code and postal code) by one week after print publication.
  13. The editorial assistant will send the hard copy of the journal to the authors within one month after print publication. One hard copy of the published journal (Print) for each article will be sent to the author/corresponding author.
