W𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭

The Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages Languages has successfully conducted a workshop titled " Cultivating a Growth Mindset" on 14th October 2025 at 9.00 AM in the Prof. Dayananda Somasundara Auditorium, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Dr. HPR Priyankara, Senior Lecturer, Department of Business Management, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka served as a resource person. This workshop helped students begin their university journey with confidence and a positive mindset. They built resilience, strengthened their ability to face challenges, and developed strategies to stay motivated and focused on their goals.

𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬

The Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages Languages has successfully conducted a workshop titled "Strengthening Academic Profiles for Research Publication Success" on 07th October 2025 at 1.30 PM in the CC1 Lab, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages. Mr. IDKL Fernando, Senior Assistant Librarian and Ms. T Warnasooriya, Assistant Librarian at the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka served as a resource person. This workshop has been designed to help academic staff gain a deeper understanding of the importance of developing and maintaining a strong academic presence in the digital space.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐄𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

The Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages has successfully conducted a workshop titled " Unlocking the Secrets to Effective Academic Writing" on 17th May 2025 at 1.00 PM via Zoom. Dr. JKC Dissanayake, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Languages, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, served as a resource person. The faculty has designed this workshop to provide 4th-year undergraduate students with an understanding of academic writing principles, improved research and reporting skills, and enhanced editing and proofreading abilities. As a result of this workshop, industrial training students will be able to draft clear, organized reports that highlight their experiences and technical work, while research students will develop the skills to structure dissertations, build strong arguments, review literature, and present findings effectively.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐇𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐋𝐚𝐰

The Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages has successfully conducted a workshop titled "Human Rights and Labour Law" on 24th March 2025 at 1.00 pm in the Faculty Board Room, FSSL. Dr. HUS Pradeep, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Social Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages (FSSL), Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, served as a resource person. The faculty has designed this workshop to provide non-academic staff with a clear understanding of their rights and responsibilities under human rights and labour laws, ensuring a fair and respectful workplace. And also, to educate participants on workplace ethics, legal compliance, and grievance-handling procedures, enabling them to address workplace issues effectively and professionally.

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬' 𝐑𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐎𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐭 𝐚 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞

The Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages has organized a workshop titled "Students’ Rights and Obligations at a Higher Education Institute". It's scheduled to be held on 08th November 2024 at 6.00 PM via Zoom. The resource person for this session will be Dr. Prathibha Mahanamahewa, Former Dean Law and Professor, University of Technology, Jamaica. We have designed this workshop to educate students on their rights and responsibilities within a higher education institute. And also to equip students with the skills to advocate for their rights and resolve conflicts through proper channels, fostering a respectful and inclusive academic environment.



 




Year 2023 - Workshop #2

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜 𝐃𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠

A workshop on Scientific Document Formatting was organized by the Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages with the expertise of Ms. Ashani Maxworth. Participants immersed themselves in the intricacies of presenting research with precision and clarity. Our knowledgeable resource person shared expert tips, addressing common challenges and demystifying the intricacies of formatting academic documents.



 




Year 2023 - Workshop #1

𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰

A workshop on 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 was organized by the Quality Assurance Cell of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages with the expertise of Prof. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi. Participants delved into the intricacies of crafting impactful literature reviews, gaining valuable insights into synthesizing research, identifying critical themes, and structuring a compelling narrative. They were left with newfound confidence in their ability to construct literature reviews that make a lasting impression.
