GSUSL

Research Center for
Grey Systems and Uncertainty Analysis,

Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (GSUSL)

Empowering people in the field of Science through the spread of knowledge and wisdom in an intelligent environment to prepare tomorrow’s researchers to address grand challenge problems.

To connect researchers, academia, industry, and society in diverse fields of Science where collaboration, innovation, and engagement are key to the network.

  1. To exchange research ideas and apply theory and practices locally and internationally.

  2. To open up avenues to disseminate and gain new knowledge in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Uncertainty analysis, data mining, statistical modeling, big data analytics, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, and data visualization and its applications.

  3. To strengthen relations with the industry that makes use of statistical skills.

1. Enriching the Knowledge and Academic Ability

As a research circle we strongly believed that, without new educational paths, students and aspiring professionals lack a clear-cut path to success in the realm of data science.

So, it is essential to enrich the knowledge of students, researchers, as well as stakeholders to structure their careers to a glorious future in the field of sciences. Furthermore, creating a pool of distinguished experts to transform all fields, professions, and sectors through theory and applications.

2. Adopting the Unique Multidisciplinary Approach

Adopting the unique multidisciplinary approach where domain-specific knowledge is used to truly understand the power and limitations of data.

International organizations expressed their willingness to collaborate with the proposed GSUSL

  • Institute of Grey Systems, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China.

  • Grey Systems Society of Türkiye (GSST), Suleyman Demirel University, Engineering Faculty, Dept. of Industrial Engineering, Isparta, Türkiye.

  • GreySys Foundation (GSF), 61-E, LPCHS, Harbanspura, Lahore Pakistan.

The center will be established and function by using external funds. Its operation in the long term will be sustained through the research and development projects given in below.

  • Research Center for Grey Systems and Uncertainty Analysis (GSUSL) is proposed under the Department of Physical Sciences and Technology, Faculty of Applied Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka, to encourage and cultivate a research culture among science undergraduates; especially, GSUSL welcomes all the researchers who are interested in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Uncertainty Analysis, Data Mining, Statistical Modeling, Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Visualization for academic research and data science careers. The GSUSL is as going to establish itself as a member of the International Association of Grey Systems and Uncertainty Analysis (IAGSUA).

  • The original aims of the GSUSL are to enhance the Statistical, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Computer Sciences knowledge of the students and the outside community and to communicate and exchange ideas with other societies, universities, and industries all over the world.

  •  Furthermore, it aims to facilitate and promote research and development activities of the faculty, commercialization of research products, and upgrading research skills of the undergraduates and postgraduate students.

  • We strongly believed that using theory and knowledge of statistics can improve decision-making, and insight created through analytics. So, GSUSL will help to improve to make better decisions today and to make the best decisions tomorrow.
