Workshop on “Assets Management and Board of Surveys” for Administrative Staff of SUSL

A workshop on “Assets Management and Board of Surveys” was conducted by CQA on 02nd October 2024 at the Staff Development Centre, SUSL with the expertise invaluable contribution of Mr. Anura Lokugamage, Learning and Development Consultant, former Senior Consultant, SLIDA as the resource person for the workshop. The target group of the workshop was all administrative officials of SUSL and the 49 members were participated. 

The main objectives of this workshop were,

• to aware the administrative staff members and heads of the departments of the university on assets management and conducting board of surveys 
• to improve knowledge on public sector assets management
• to enhance skills on conducting annual board of surveys and disposal procedures
• to learn the responsibilities of board of survey
• to be familiarize with inventory books and registers to be maintained by public sector organizations

Awareness Workshop on "Financial Procedures”

CQA with the recommendation of the Senate Standing Committee on Quality organized a workshop on “Financial Procedures” for Management Assistants of SUSL. It was held successfully on 27th November2024, at the Staff Development Centre, SUSL with the participation of 96 participants. 

Main objectives of this workshop were as follows,

• to give a clear idea about financial procedures and to avoid possible errors in handling financial matters
• to improve the relevant knowledge and skills
• to help in meeting the compliances
• to empower the target audience with the confidence to implement the relevant best practices

It was completedby meeting the intended objectives successfully with the contribution given by Mrs. S.A.S. De Silva, Bursar, SUSL as the Resource Person for the workshop. This programme was interactively done and everyone has shared their knowledge, ideas, experiences and regular problems with the audience.

“Vision for the Journey” – Motivational Workshop

CQA, SUSL with the recommendation of the Senate Standing Committee on Quality organized a workshop on “Vision for the Journey” a motivational workshop for works aides of SUSL.This workshop was held successfully on 06th December 2024, at the Staff Development Centre, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka with participation of 74 members. 

The main objective of the workshop was to enhance the motivation of the target audience through enhancing their self-awareness, networking opportunities and positive mind-set etc. 

CQA was able to meet the intended objective by completing the task successfully with the invaluable contribution given by Mr. Deepal Wijayasekara, Career skill developmental consultant and academic member of the Uva Wellassa University as the Resource Person for the workshop. This session was interactively done and everyone has shared their ideas and experiences with the audience.

Workshop on "Academic Life at SUSL"

CQA has conducted a workshop on titled “Academic Life at SUSL”for newly recruited academic members of SUSL.  The workshop was successfully conducted on 16th December 2024, at the Staff Development Centre, SUSL with the participation of 40 academics.

Main objectives of this workshop were as follows,

• to help the target audience to understand the institutional culture
• to aid the target audience to gain the networking opportunities
• to introduce to potential mentors within the institution to the newly recruited academic members of SUSL
• to gain the understanding the job expectations, performance metrics of newly recruited academic members of SUSL
• to provide with directions for the career path for newly recruited academic members of SUSL

CQA, SUSL were competent enough to meet the intended objectives by completing the task successfully with the invaluable contribution given by Prof. Athula Gnanapala / Dean / Faculty of Management Studies, Prof. W.M.J. Welgama / Professor at Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Dr. Rohan Abeywickrama / Dean / Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Dr. Nadee Mahawaththa / Senior Lecturer / Faculty of Management Studies and Mr. D. Jasinghe / Senior Lecturer / Faculty of Management Studies, senior academics at  Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka as the Resource Personals  for the workshop. This session was interactively done and everyone has shared their knowledge, ideas, experiences and insights with the audience.

Awareness Workshop for Institutional Review Preparedness Activities, SUSL

CQA has successfully conducted an awareness workshop for Institutional Review Preparedness Activities of SUSL with the Deans, IR committee chairs, IR committee members, SSCQA members and Directors of the Centers. This was held on 18th December, 2024 with expertise knowledge and invaluable contribution of Snr. Prof. D.A.M. De Silva, advisory member and also an experienced IR reviewer, SUSL. Main objective of this was to have basic introduction on the current reviewing process and aware on the initial arrangements. There were 56 participants representing IR preparatory committees.
