Workshop on “Innovative Pedagogies and Academic Literacy”

A workshop on Workshop on “Innovative Pedagogies and Academic Literacy” for the Administrative staff of the SUSL was organized by CQA in the month of June, 2023 with the expertise invaluable contribution of Dr. Ramola Rassool, Director, Post Graduate Institute of English (PGIE), Open University of Sri Lanka as the resource persons for the workshop. This was conducted on 22nd June 2023 at the Staff Development Centre with the participation of 37 participants. 

The objectives of this workshop were to,

• raise awareness of Academic Literacy (AL) among state university academics, especially the academic staff of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka (SUSL)
• discuss the importance of AL support in English Medium Degree Programmes (EMDPs)
• introduce the basis for innovative pedagogy for EMDPs
• introduce the concept of Peer Assistant Writers (PAW) as a part of AL 
• explore the role of AL in formative and summative assessments 
• identify perceived challenges to AL development

Awareness Workshop on “Quality Assurance; Way Forward in Quality Enhancement of SUSL

An interactive Awareness Workshop on “Quality Assurance; Way Forward in Quality Enhancement of SUSL, for Administrative Staff was conducted by the CQA on 03rd August 2023 at the Staff Development Centre with the invaluable contribution of Prof. Ranjith Pallegama, Director, Centre for Quality Assurance, University of Peradeniya as the resource personof the workshop. The main objective of this workshop was to make aware on the Quality Assurance and Institutional Review and give a clear idea about contributing an Institutional review by sharing the experience on University of Peradeniya with our university community. The CQA was able to aware 40 participants through the awareness programme.
