Ethics for Editors

  • Editors should be accountable for everything published in the journal: this includes having measures in place to assess the quality of the material they accept for the journal and a willingness to publish corrections and clarifications when required.
  • Editors should act in a fair and balanced way when carrying out their duties, without discrimination on grounds of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or religious or political beliefs.
  • Editors should guide authors and reviewers on everything that is expected of them.
  • Editors should make decisions on which articles to publish based on quality and suitability.
  • Editors should handle submissions in a fair, unbiased, and timely manner and treat all manuscripts as confidential, for distribution to others for purposes of peer-review only.
  • Editors should have systems to ensure that peer reviewers’ identities are protected unless they use an open review system that is declared to authors and reviewers.
  • Journal should have policies and systems in place to ensure that commercial considerations do not affect editorial decisions, and editors should handle submissions for funded issues in the same way as for standard issues so that articles are accepted entirely on their academic merit and without commercial influence.
  • Journals should have a declared mechanism for authors to appeal against editorial decisions.

Editors should have systems for managing their conflicts of interest as well as those of their staff, authors, reviewers, and editorial board members

Review Process

The journal follows a double blind peer-review process.

  1. After receiving a paper, the editor in chief with the help of an editorial member/s decides whether the paper should be sent for review or not, based on the plagiarism report of the article and the relevant it in the Social Science/Humanities discipline.
  2. Once the editor-in-chief decides to send the paper for reviewers, the paper is sent to two reviewers (the experts in respective fields) to review the paper in the light of the journal's guidelines and features of a quality research paper.
  3. For papers that require changes, the same reviewers will be used to ensure that the quality of the revised paper is acceptable. The review process takes a maximum of two months.
  4. The reviewers' recommendations determine whether a paper will be accepted/ accepted subject to change/subject to resubmission with significant changes/ rejected.
  5. The review reports are collected from the reviewers and the editorial assistant will send the review reports to the authors including all terms and conditions of the publication.
  6. If the paper is accepted, the managing editor will ask the author/corresponding author to pay the publication fee of the journal within the specified time.
  7. The editorial assistant shall send the modified paper to the same reviewers of the said paper to justify the modifications. In case of very minor changes, the editorial board may consider the paper for further modifications.
  8. The accepted paper is processed for publication (soft copy) upon the successful completion of the journal’s terms and conditions. Author(s) should prepare the final version of the article in the template sent by the Managing editor. The author may ask for an acceptance letter after making the payment of the publication fee. The acceptance letter is issued within two weeks of publication fee receipt.
  9. The editorial assistant will send the processed paper for publication to the author/corresponding author for proofreading.
  10. Author/Corresponding Author will be notified of the possible date of publication (both online and print).
  11. The paper is published online first. The printed version of the journal is published within one month after the publication of the online version.
  12. The editorial assistant will ask the authors of the published papers to send their correct and complete mailing address (with proper ZIP Code and postal code) by one week after print publication.
  13. The editorial assistant will send the hard copy of the journal to the authors within one month after print publication. One hard copy of the published journal (Print) for each article will be sent to the author/corresponding author.

Publication Ethics for Journal Article Reviewers

  • Reviewers should assist in improving the quality of a submitted article by reviewing the manuscript with care, consideration, and objectivity, on time.
  • Reviewers should inform the journal editor of any published or submitted content that is similar to the material under review, or any suspected plagiarism.
  • Reviewers should declare any potential conflicts of interest relating to a specific article or author.
  • Reviewers should respect the confidentiality of any information or material supplied during the review process.
