MSc Ayurvedic Hospital Management

The MSc in Ayurvedic Hospital Management programme is specially designed to provide comprehensive postgraduate training for Ayurveda Medical Practitioners. The duration of the programme is two academic years. In the first year, which consists of three semesters including the preliminary courses, the participants must follow fifteen subjects, including a module in Research Methodology, and prepare a dissertation on an approved research topic. In the second year, students are required to take five more modules, including two electives. The objective of the programme is to provide the theoretical and research base to prepare participants for administrative, educational, consultative, and research positions in Ayurvedic Health Care and Hospital Management. The programme offers advanced research training based on individual interests and career aspirations to allow students to develop the ability to complete significant research in a specific area of study. The intellectual and supportive environment fostered by the Faculty encourages academic staff and students to conduct such research collaboratively.

 

Intended Learning Outcomes: At the end of the course students will:

  • Possess managerial skills including the skills for effective communication essential in demonstrating sound health care professionalism;
  • Be able to apply knowledge and skills to solve managerial problems in core functional areas of hospital administration;
  • Relate theories of management to practice;
  • Demonstrate a global perspective, adaptability, and global best practices in hospital and health care management in general, and in Ayurveda health care in particular;
  • Possess the skills required to integrate concepts from various management disciplines to identify and develop strategies applicable for effective management of hospital systems; and
  • Possess the skills required to manage resources efficiently in a planned and performance-based environment.

The candidate should have the following qualifications.

  • B.A.M.S. / B.U.M.S. / B.S.M.S. / Postgraduate Diploma in Ayurvedic Hospital Management / Postgraduate Diploma in Ayurveda, and 
  • One year of work experience relevant to the same field at a public or private Ayurveda health care institution/facility recognized by the University Senate.

Selection Criteria

Applicants are short-listed depending on the number of applications received and will be called for an interview for the final selection. If the applications are very much in excess an aptitude test may be held.
