Welcome to the Library

As the heart of the university, the library serves its clients who are eager to update their knowledge. The university library serves its users exposing them to the global interaction and connectivity through E-Learning. The Sabaragamuwa university library has already started to deal with library automation. Now, it has a collection of E-Journals and those who are interesting in that can make use it through the library Web page. In this connection the library had joined for the Consortia of E-Journals where all academics and scholars in a common pool. Universities have a vast challenge amidst rapidly changing society, and Sabaragamuwa University too, having felt this profound impact, has understood one certainty: that change is the norm and knowledge will be a key resource and will be highly sought after within Sri Lanka and around the globe. Taking up this challenge, Sabaragamuwa University helps generate intellectual abilities of students and educates and trains them to work in fields where they will be valued both for their specialized knowledge, and for their ability to research, communicate and solve problems. Geared with its outstanding staff, students, facilities and relevant academic programmes, Sabaragamuwa University holds a firm place among the universities in Sri Lanka and is building its way towards ascertaining a stronghold among the world's leading universities.

CONSAL has established a centralized document delivery service through the library of University of Colombo and the British Library Document Supply Service (BLDSS). The service caters to academics of the state universities in Sri Lanka. Please direct your requests to the library, University of Colombo with the recommendation of your librarian.

Main library was recently included for the membership of Sri Lanka Science & Technology Institute Network (SLSTINET). 

Turnitin is an internet-based similarity detection platform that enables you to miimized the level of plagiarism in your valued origianl sholarly work. You need to create an user account to access to this service. 

Document Supply Service (DSS) is a facility offered for the 15 STate universities, by the Consortium of Sri Lankan Academic Libraries (CONSAL) which is funded by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka. If you are looking for any journal article or a book chapter which is not available in your library, please complete the Article Request Form from the British Library as instructed and email to the given address. Please make sure that you do not request any item available in a Sri Lankan Library or on the Internet free of charge. Please read the brochure for more information.

Now we provide distance learning support through the Digital Docuement Dilivery Service. Search the content from our OPAC and let us know your information need DDSS portal

You can obtain ISBN, ISSN numbers from this ISBN Portal of Sri Lanka for the publications that you made with the publication right to the university. You have to contact the ISBN office or signup for a new personal account to obtain ISBN, ISSN, or ISMN for you publication. You can also check for any ISBN numbers to obtain details about a publicaiton from the ISBN Directory Of Sri Lanka
