Curriculum

BSc (Special) in Sport Sciences and Management (SSM) Degree Programme

A graduate of the BSc (special) Degree Programme in Sport Sciences and Management is intended to be a Sport Scientist/Manager equipped with relevant research, development and management abilities, who will have the specialist knowledge, the skill to develop physical literacy as well as general intellectual and life skills and able to apply that intellectuality for personal as well as the social wellbeing/wisdom. At the same time attitudes of students and skills will equip to obtain employment in the fields of Sport Science and Sport Management.

Attributes:
1. Specialist Knowledge
1.1      A mastery of a theoretical knowledge, including an understanding of broad conceptual and theoretical elements in             the field of Sports Sciences and Sports Management. 
1.2     An understanding and appreciation of current problems and debates in the field of Sport Science and Management.
1.3     An understanding and appreciation of the sport philosophical bases, methodologies and characteristics of coaching            and judging, research and creative work.

2. Skills and capacities
  1.1     Critically analyze and apply the scientific theories to develop sport performance.
  1.2     Attain competencies in managing a broad range of sports disciplines.
  1.3     Demonstrate sports activities skillfully. 
  1.4     Develop a broad range of soft skills and abilities to work as a member and a leader of a team.
  1.5     An ability to recognize when information is needed and a capacity to locate, evaluate and use this information                    effectively.
  1.6     Promote life-long physical activities that maintain physical fitness and develop healthy nation.


3. Personal Qualities
 1.1     An ability to work independently and collaboration with others.
 1.2     An ability to lead ethical reasoning in the coaching of Sports and Physical Educational skills to people.
 1.3     Respect for the values of other individuals and groups, and an appreciation of human and cultural diversity.
 1.4     Personal and professional integrity and an awareness of the requirements of ethical behavior.

BSc (Special) in Physical Education (PED) Degree Programme

A graduate of the BSc (special) degree programme in physical education is intended to be an effective physical education professional, who is capable of the development of health and sports performance through possessing personal physical activity skills, teaching/coaching and umpiring skills, research competencies as well as administration capabilities, and able to apply that intellectuality for the personal and social wellbeing/wisdom.  Students acquire the knowledge, skills, right attitudes and values towards the pursuit of a lifelong physically active and healthy lifestyle. It also provides an avenue for students to express themselves through movement and physical activity.

1.1. Critically analyze and apply the scientific theories to develop life-long physical activities and healthy community.

1.2. Understanding of key principles, concepts, and skills of Physical Education & Sports and are knowledgeable of contemporary developments in their subject matter

1.3. Knowledgeable about planning, contemporary curriculum and assessment policy and practice, school contexts, and educational reform

1.4. Knowledgeable about students and theories of learning and child development in support of psychologically and physically safe, and supportive learning environments

2. Skills

2.1. Attain competencies in managing a broad range of sports activities and demonstrate sports activities skillfully.

2.2. Improvement of willingness and capability to monitor their own growth and use that learning to improve the teaching and learning process

2.4. Measure variables related to physical activities skillfully and assess (interpret), evaluate (judge) and make effective decisions.

2.5. Ability to conduct qualitative inquiries to develop sport performance find out new strategies/methods to teach physical education activities.
