30th World University Games 2019 - Napoli, Italy

Ms. Nauchalee Rajapakasha and Ms.Dulangi Wannithilaka, students in the Department of Sports Sciences & Physical Education have been the team members of Sri Lankan Champions team in ASIAN NETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP 2018.
Sri Lanka Flag Vibrated with Sabra at World Table Tennis Arena
Mr. Pathum Weerakkody, a Lecturer in the Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education, Faculty of Applied Sciences has participated in the World Table Tennis Championship 2018, as the manager of Sri Lanka National Table Tennis Team by representing Sri Lanka which was held at Halmstad, Sweden. Further, in this visit he attended the Annual General Meeting of the International Table Tennis Federation by representing Sri Lanka.
KBI International Karate Championship 2017-18
Ten students from Department of Sport Sciences and Management have participated KBI International Karate Championship 2017-18 was held in Hyderabad on 20th to 26th of December 2017. Among seven (7) countries (Australia, England, USA, Malaysia, India, Bangladesh, Nepal) the Sabaragamuwa University team won 16 medals in total, 4 Gold medals, 7 Silver medals and 5 Bronze medals.
Searching the Research Aspects in Apparel Industry
The MAS INTIMATES Linea Clothing, Pallekelle is trying to address the field of Industrial Ergonomics for increase the work efficiency of the human capital. They are looking forward to go on with research base by extending the collaborations with The Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education in Faculty of Applied Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. As the initial step, Department staff members were visited to observe the working environment in MAS INTIMATES Linea Clothing, Pallekelle.
Sports People stepping towards to sharing the knowledge with the Naval Sailors
The Department of Sports Sciences and Physical Education in Faculty of Applied Sciences, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka has conducted a Sport Programme to the Naval and Maritime Academy, the premier training academy of Sri Lanka Navy regarding the knowledge about Complexities and Efficiency of Physical Training Systems in Sports Training by using the theoretical and laboratory practices. Twenty Naval Sailors who are reading the Physical Training Instructors Qualifying Course was successfully participated to the programme by broaden their understanding in applicable professions in sports.
Sport Sciences and Management undergrad represented World Miss University pageant
Dulani Rathnayake, a B.Sc. in Sports Science and Management undergraduate of the Department of Sport Sciences and Physical Education, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka represented Sri Lanka at the World Miss University pageant that held in South Korea and Cambodia from 25th November to 20th December 2017. Dulani is also the winner of the Miss Teen competition held in 2015. The World Miss University pageant is an international beauty contest held annually in Seoul since 1986 with an average of about 70 contestants every year. The event is held to select the World Miss University Peace Corps Representatives.
The best player of National Taekwondo Championship - 2017
Dilumini Kawshila Meegoda, a undergraduate of the B.Sc. Sport Sciences and Management has won the Gold medal in Middle (67 kg - 73 kg) weight category at the National Sport Festival 2017 and she was the best player at National Taekwondo Championship 2017 organized by Sri Lanka Taekwondo Federation which was held on 09, 10 and 22 December 2017 at the Hostel Gym Indoor Stadium of the Ministry of Sports.
