Degree Programs

The Faculty offers the following degree programs:

Bachelor of Arts Honors Degree (Four years)

Details of the basic credit requirement for the Honors degrees are given below. Students must obtain 127 credits in total in order to obtain Honors degrees. Conditions of the fulfillment of the credits are as follows:

Minor Subject (Coded as M) 24 Credits 
Core Subject 28 Credits
Total credits to be obtained 127 

Bachelor of Arts General Degree (Three years)

Details of the basic credit requirement for the General degree are given below. Students must obtain 97 credits in total in order to obtain a General degree. Conditions of the fulfillment of the credits are as follows:

Major subjects 39 Credits
Minor subjects 30 Credits
Core subjects 28 Credits
Total credits to be obtained 97 

The Faculty conducts the BA General Degree Program with the support of all theDepartments in the Faculty, while the BA Honors Degrees in relevant subjects are conducted as follows:

  • Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL)
    (The DELT offers Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) as a major/minor subject and English Language Courses throughout students’ university career.)

The Board of Study in Agricultural Sciences

The Board of study (BoS) plays a crucial role in the management and maintenance of academic quality and standards of the Faculty’s postgraduate programs. The BoS oversees the postgraduate programs offered by the faculty consisting of both taught programs and research higher degree programs. At present postgraduate programs are offered in the following broad concentration areas: Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Environment & Resource Management, Animal Bio-resource Management, Aquatic Bio-resource Management, Crop Improvement & Plant Protection, Crop Production Technology, and Food Business Management

Research higher degree programs include Master of Philosophy and Doctor of Philosophy these programs are advanced postgraduate degrees undertaken by research only and lead to advanced academic and theoretical knowledge in a specialist area. Both programs are available in full and part-time modes.

Taught programs are available to students who are looking to further their knowledge in a particular field of study. The BoS is in the process of designing a number of taught programs and will be available in due cause.
