The webinar to enhance the undergraduates' knowledge regarding financial derivatives was conducted

on 11th and 12th May 2021 from 5.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. via Zoom for the fourth year first semester
students of the Department of Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of Management Studies of
Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. Mr. Maurya Padmasanka, CFA, Fund Manager of Comtrust
Asset Management, facilitated this session successfully. It was organized by the AHEAD Department

Project, Department of Accountancy & Finance, Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa
University of Sri Lanka. The session's objective was to give the basic knowledge of the fourth-year
undergraduates regarding the types of derivatives in the financial markets and to make them aware of
how derivatives are practically used in risk management. After the successful completion of the

session, the undergraduates were expected to explain the types of derivatives, their functioning, and
how they are used against the financial risks.
