The webinar series to enhance the knowledge of undergraduates regarding property insurance,

Engineering insurance, and motor insurance were conducted on 18th, 19th, and 20th December 2020
from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. via zoom for the second year second semester and fourth year first
semester Banking and Insurance students of the Department of Accountancy and Finance, Faculty of
Management Studies of Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. The session's main objective was to
enhance awareness regarding key concepts, underwriting process, claim process, and the practical

application of property, engineering, and motor insurance classes. Mr. Udaya Kumara, the General
Manager (Technical) of Co-operative insurance Limited, facilitated the sessions throughout the three
days. It was organized by the AHEAD Department Project, Department of Accountancy & Finance,

Faculty of Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. After successfully completing
the sessions, the undergraduates were expected to have a sound understanding of the principles of
insurance application, current market practices of commercial property insurance, and the current
changes in the general insurance industry due to the pandemic situation.
