H.E. Dewi Gustina Tobing has served as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, with concurrent accreditation to the Republic of Maldives, since October 2021. In her capacity as Ambassador, she plays an important role in strengthening Indonesia’s bilateral relations with Sri Lanka and the Maldives, while promoting greater cooperation and mutual understanding between the countries.

She also serves as Dean of the Diplomatic Corps in Sri Lanka, where she contributes to coordinating multilateral activities among resident ambassadors and fostering dialogue, cooperation, and engagement within the diplomatic community.

Throughout her diplomatic career, Ambassador Dewi Gustina Tobing has been actively involved in advancing international relations, bilateral cooperation, and Indonesia’s diplomatic interests. Her work places particular emphasis on cultural diplomacy, economic cooperation, education and academic exchanges, and people-to-people connectivity. She has also supported initiatives that highlight the longstanding friendship and shared values between Indonesia and Sri Lanka.

Prior to her appointment as Ambassador, she held a number of important positions within Indonesia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among them, she served as Director of Intra-Regional Cooperation for the Americas and Europe, contributing to Indonesia’s engagement and cooperation with countries across these regions. She also served as Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Perth, Australia, where she represented Indonesia and strengthened consular, economic, social, and people-to-people relations with the Indonesian and Australian communities.

Her diplomatic career reflects Indonesia’s commitment to building constructive international partnerships, promoting dialogue and mutual respect, and strengthening friendship among nations. In her current role, she continues to advance cooperation between Indonesia, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, while promoting the shared values of peace, inclusivity, cultural understanding, and international cooperation.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Management from the Christian University of Indonesia and an MBA from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom.
