His Excellency Qi Zhenhong currently serves as the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Sri Lanka, a position he has held since 2020. With a career spanning over three decades in diplomacy and economic policy, Ambassador Qi began his professional journey at the Beijing Service Bureau for Diplomatic Missions before transitioning to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA). His extensive experience includes key diplomatic postings during the Hong Kong transition period and senior leadership roles within the MFA's Policy Planning Department and General Office. Prior to his current appointment in Colombo, he served as the Ambassador to the Kingdom of Bahrain (2014-2017) and as the President of the China Institute of International Studies (2017-2020).
