The Third International Conference on Social Sciences and Languages (ICSSL) 2026 is organized by the Faculty of Social Sciences and Languages, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka. This conference provides an open forum for academics, researchers, undergraduate and postgraduate students, and industry professionals to present their research findings in the disciplines of social sciences and languages.

In today’s world, the survival of humanity and the sustenance of socio-economic stability face numerous challenges from both local and foreign sources. Now, more than ever, Sri Lankan society needs a holistic approach, strongly supported by multidisciplinary research, to address these pressing issues. The integration of social science research in such a versatile forum allows for the sharing of valuable insights that can contribute to the betterment of the global community and, more specifically, the enhancement of the quality of life for the people of Sri Lanka.

Such a holistic approach will investigate the interwoven socio-cultural, economic, and political relationships in an age dominated by information. It aims to open new avenues for dialogue and wisdom, ultimately leading to the formulation of effective social policy.

The ICSSL 2026 will take place on 16th and 17th December 2026, featuring a wide range of presentations on multidisciplinary research in social sciences and languages. The conference will also include guest speeches and keynote addresses by leading personalities from both national and international contexts. Additionally, the conference will be preceded by two online workshops of academic importance. The ICSSL 2026 inauguration will be held in person, while the conference itself will be held online, with the theme “Language and Society in the Digital Epoch” as the central focus.
