Wawulpane caves allow you to understand from karst elements to formation processes including karst landforms such as caverns, shafts, springs, an underground waterfall, karst windows, and cave travertines. Madunagala hot-water springs indicate the confined aquifers and remarkable artisian action of the springs. Hambantota sand dunes, especially the reddish beach indicate a rich garnet deposit. In addition to the coastal geomorphological processes and outstanding features along the beach, serpentinite deposits at Ussangoda show remarkable serpentinisation and serpentine reddish soil formation.
