Five students in 2018/2019 batch together with two academic staff had the privilege of participating in the Student Exposure Program at Meiji University. This initiative aimed to provide our students with hands-on experience with advanced HiTECH instruments. The program was specially crafted by Meiji University with the request of Prof. K. R. Koswattage in collaboration with eight cutting-edge laboratories, offering a unique opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in modern technology. The Details of the laboratory visits are as follows.
1. Wagata Lab. An Introduction to Inorganic Crystal Chemistry
2. Sinmyo Lab. Exploring the Earth's deep interior by high-pressure and -temperature experiments
3. Noguchi Lab. Organic semiconductors for light-emitting devices
4. Watanabe Lab. Green Hydrogen from Solar Energy
5. Suzuki Lab. Monitoring the atmosphere by using optical remote sensing methods
6. Ono Lab. Introduction to Brain Machine Interface
7. Murakami Lab. Introduction to applications of digital signal processing
8. Ibuki Lab. Introduction to Distributed Motion Coordination of Mobile Robotic Networks
Notably, this program incurred no costs, made possible through the collaboration with Meiji University within the research project at the Center for Nanodevice Fabrication & Characterization. Preliminary discussions have successfully taken place to orchestrate this enriching activity, which will involve both students and selected lecturers.
This initiative holds tremendous potential for our students and young academics, serving not only as a valuable exposure opportunity but also as a gateway to potential future collaborations with these esteemed laboratories.
