Towards a
zero-waste
organization
The webinar “Towards a zero-waste organization” was organized by Final Year Business Management
undergraduates with the guidance of Ms. A.W. Thiranagama, aiming to familiarize the undergraduates
about the industry practices on reducing the environmental impact of waste management to become a
zero-waste organization. Also, make them aware of how they can contribute to that as they are getting
ready to step into the world of work. Practical aspects of different local and global industries were
discussed relevant to waste management. Some immediate actions were highlighted as a starting
point to practice in terms of waste management as undergraduates. The webinar was held on 05th
March 2021 by Dr. Sampath Wahala, Senior Lecturer, Department of Tourism Management, Faculty of
Management Studies, Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka.
