Technologies in bioenergy and biofuel generation include those processes that convert organic materials into renewable energies such as biofuels and biogas. These processes commonly include fermentation, transesterification, gasification, and anaerobic digestion, producing bioethanol, biodiesel, and biogas form feedstocks such as crops, agricultural residues, and waste. Bioenergy technologies instead offer reduced dependence on fossil fuels, decreased greenhouse gas emissions, and development of sustainable energy production systems. Importantly, the above biomass technologies will serve in transitioning to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future through their efficient use of biomass resources.
