Following  the  inception,  Academic  Programs  were  commenced  on
                                    7th  May  1992  with  an  initial  student  batch  of  225  students  and  14

                                    full-time  academic  staff.  The  Affiliated  University  initially  had  no
                                    departments  but  03  boards  of  study:  Travel  and  Tourism

                                    Management,  Accounting  and  Finance,  and  English,  which  offered
                                    two-year  Diploma  Programs  in  Travel  and  Tourism  Management,

                                    Accounting  and  Finance,  and  English  respectively.  At  the  initial

                                    stage,  each  of  these  Diploma  Programs  were  managed  by  the
                                    Acting      Program      Co-ordinator  Mr.  N.E.  Prekash,  Acting  Program
                                    Co-ordinator     Mr.    D.   Jasingha     and     Program     Co-ordinator

                                    (Temporary) Mr. K.S. Sivayesunesan respectively.
